CS leads high level team to Leh to take stock of development works/schemes | KNO

LEH, NOVEMBER 29 (KNO) : Following visit to Kargil yesterday, Chief Secretary, B B Vyas Wednesday led a high level team to Leh District to review progress of various development works and welfare schemes besides discussing resolution of land issues with the Army. Principal Secretary, Home, R.K Goyal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Rohit Kansal, AVSM SM, QMG Lt. General Ashok Ambre besides other officers accompanied the Chief Secretary. During the meeting with the District Administration and the Army officials, it was decided that all outstanding land related issues shall be addressed in a time bound manner considering the strategic requirements of the army and the requirements of Civilian Administration and the local population. During the visit, Chief Secretary and the officers also interacted with CEC, LAHDC, Dr Sonam Dawa Lonpo and other Executive Councillors. Detailed deliberations were held in regard to funding of various development projects including open stadium, ice hockey rink and cold storage plant in Leh. Issues related to land in possession of the defence forces was also discussed in the meeting. Implementation of various important development projects and welfare schemes in the central and state sector were also reviewed. Chief Secretary stressed on effective implementation of the Border Area Development Programme (BADP) in the district especially in the villages along the Line of Actual Control. Later in the day, Chief Secretary visited various places including open stadium, ice skating rink, show room of the women cooperative- Looms of Ladakh, Tourist Information Centre and the District Hospital, Leh.(KNO)
